Recycled Treasures 30 Day Art Challenge 2017

Since its launch in 2007, local artists have found Recycled Treasures a valuable resource in acquiring the materials and tools they need to create. In celebration of this and to raise awareness of what Recycled Treasures’ planned expansion could do to further aid the Hamtramck/Detroit community, Recycled Treasures is pleased to announce our very first 30 Day Art Challenge.

By registering their participation local artists will be welcome to a unique haul of varied materials from Recycled Treasures’ overstocked current facilities. For 30 days across October and November, ten artists will create an original work to be exhibited at Oloman Café Next Door Gallery in Hamtramck on November 16 with a grand prize of $500 to be awarded. All donated pieces will be auctioned to raise funds for Recycled Treasures’ plans to expand their furniture bank and low priced resale operations.

Sweet Summer Night Thank You!

Our Sweet Summer Night launch party was a big success. We had a great time and raised several
thousand dollars for our capital campaign thanks to Bon Bon Bon and Detroit City Distillery who served
up drinks and chocolate for everyone. Thanks to all our sponsors: Hamtramck Recycling LLC, the
Hamtramck Review, Euro-mini Mart, Dunwell Dry Goods for making this a great kick off to buy our own
building. A special thanks to Emily Wood for her beautiful illustration of our new home. Please help if
you can and donate on Generosity to: RT Furniture Bank needs a forever home.
